Vent-Rite #1 Air Radiator Vent Valve with adjustable vent found under the steam path. The valve has a 1/8" male connection and a 3/32" vent port. Operating pressure is up to 3 PSI maximum, the vent valve can allow slightly higher pressure as long as the pressure decreases and lesser than the operating pressure between each ring cycle. Applicable for free standing radiators.
The Vent-Rite Valves operate in a positive action manner and straight-line venting. The internal parts are made of brass and nickel-plated & polished exterior. Provides fast response and uniform heat distribution to the radiator. Controlled venting is necessary to balance the radiation. During temperature change, the vent will automatically vent the air by continually opening and closing in maximum operating pressure. Safe to use that in an unexpected situation, the vent port will be automatically closed and filled with water.
Vent-Rite Valves replaces the Dole #1A and Hoffman #1A vents.

The manufacturing quality is excellent; I've purchased at least two dozen so far and each has worked flawlessly. This was not the case with adjustable air vents from other manufactures. The adjusting mechanism is very easy to operate. This device simply operates well and is worth the price.

I manage a 30 unit building with 3 to 7 radiators in each unit. This is the only adjustable steam air vent that I've personally tried that really works. The build quality is also excellent.I've tried others that too often fail at fully trapping the air, and or have very inconsistent performance due to manufacturing defects. It's best to properly balance your steam distribution but if that proves too difficult, this is the best adjustable air vent on the market.

I'm a newbie to steam due to buying a 1925 house, and wanted to get the system optimized. Dan Holohan and my local plumber both said "replace those vents" and the adjustable helps tune the radiators for heat in the right places. I like that the numbers have a clear relationship to the aperture.

I ordered 10, standard shipping, and they arrived the next day! (I'm in eastern MA.) Brand new in original packaging. Solid product; they don't feel cheaply made. It's just been a few months, but all good so far. I had a problem putting credit card info online, so I called up, which I hate to do, but it was soooo easy. That was nice.
