Taco 1600 Series In-Line Pump

The Taco 1600 Series In-Line Pumps consist of bearing cartridge which is permanently-lubricated and easy to replace. The cartridge has the ability to isolate the bearing from the effects of system temperatures making the bearing life longer. There are 15 models available under Taco 1600 Series ranging in performance capacity from 10 GPM to 235 GPM with head capacities up to 68 ft. 

To determine what size of Taco pump you need it best to consult a certified licensed HVAC technician or a Taco representative.  However, a general rule of thumb for sizing a Taco pump, is that the circulator pump must output 1 gallon of water per minute for each 10,000 BTU (British Thermal Units) of heat load required.  So if a system is sized for a 400,000 BTU/hr capacity, the Taco circulator pump needs a minimum of 40 gallons per minute of water flow.  This general formula should be verified by your technician, but would answer the question of What size Taco pump do I need?

The 1630C3E1-3PH  pump is made of cast iron pump and bronze impeller with a water seal kit of 1600-868CRP Ceramic/Carbon/EPT. It has 48 motor frame size, 1/2" shaft diameter, 2-inch flange size.
