The Honeywell S87J1034 is a low-voltage Direct Spark Ignition Module (DSI) powered by a 25V transformer. A single electrode (Q347B) is used for spark ignition and flame sensing. This DSI module provides a 30-second pre-purge or startup delay and a 21-second ignition trial time. Used for boilers, gas-fired furnaces, and other heating devices that use Natural or LP type of gas.
The S87 DSI module provides a 30,000 volt for spark ignition, gas valve control, and burner flame monitoring. It can operate with any kind of gas control valve as long as it is for DSI utilization that is rated at 2.0A or less. When the burner fails to ignite, an automatic safety lockout is activated. This feature prevents possible accidents or unsafe operations.
