The Copeland 943-0120-00 is a SecureStart module kit consisting of a start capacitor, start relay, and a wiring harness. This device has an ABS plastic body that can operate with 50/60 Hz and 200/230 VAC power supply.
The SecureStart module helps reduce stress, in-rush current, and compressor heating. This device has a low voltage protection that monitors the voltage supply to prevent motor stalling by switching off. It also has a delay function that works on emergency shutdown.

Installed 5 months ago in a Lennox 2.5 ton ML14XP1-30-230 heat pump outdoor unit to reduce inrush current from ~78 amps measured with Kaiweets Ht208D clamp meter to less than 40 Amps to allow use with a Champion model 201218 generator (9000 watts operating, 11250 watts startup) through a Generlink 40 Amp surge protected interface. After completing its self-training cycle measured inrush was reduced to ~38 Amps. Compressor start noise dramatically less. Installed myself (electrical engineering experience doesn't hurt) using info available online, has worked flawlessly ever since.

Easy install. Reduced starting amps from 20 to 5. As advertised, 75% less. Allows smaller backup generator to run 3 ton AC.

I have just installed it but it dropped the starting amps from 20 to 5. Now portable generator will be able to operate AC as a backup.
